FUNDRAISING IDEAS
As this year will mark the 10th Anniversary of the event it would be fantastic to get all of those taking part in Ted’s Big Day Out! 2009 to theme their fundraising around the traditional 10th Anniversary colours, Silver and Blue or the traditional 10th Anniversary gift - Tin
Here are just a few fundraising ideas to give you a little inspiration but remember: - you can always return to the traditional way and pay just £1 to take your teddy out for the day!
In your School or Nursery:
- Wear silver and blue fancy dress on the day
- Bring in your silver coins and make a giant silver 10 in the playground
- Set up a tin can alleyway and charge 10p a go, whoever knocks down most, wins
- Make tin foil jewellery or badges
- Hold a teddy treasure hunt
- Play a game with your teddy - guess the name of Ted, spot the Ted
- Make silver and blue friendship bracelets
- Hold a guess which teddy belongs to which child competition with your class
In your workplace:
- Wear silver and blue to work for the day
- Hold a 10 minute/10 question quiz
- Take 10 minutes to hold a mini tea party with your teddies
- Hold a quick competition - how many press ups can you do in 10 minutes
- Have a 10 doughnut eating competition - who can finish the fastest?
- Hold a silver and blue raffle
- Have a 10p or silver coin office fine for swearing or ‘that hated phrase’!
In your community or group
- Hold a tea party for ten
- Hold a cutest teddy competition
- Make Ted a 10th Anniversary cake and hold a cake sale
- Hold a 10 pin bowling competition
- Hold a raffle containing only silver and blue items
- Collect people’s silver coins - Foreign or English
- Take part in a sponsored 10 hour event i.e sponsored silence
- Make a 10ft / 10metre coin line
With your friends and family:
- Organise a silver and blue themed bring and buy sale
- Hold a 10 round quiz in your local pub
- Recycle for charity for any given period
- Hold a silver and blue cocktail party
- Dye your hair silver and blue
- Have a silver and blue cup cake sale
